Explore My Journey in Science, Research, and Beyond

Background, Achievements and Experience

A Journey of Knowledge and Growth

The pursuit of knowledge has been the cornerstone of my professional and academic path. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences (Industrial Chemistry) and a Master’s in Science (Chemical Instrumentation), my academic background reflects a strong foundation in the field of chemistry. Currently, as a PhD candidate in Applied Sciences (Chemistry), I delve deeper into research on graphene-based catalyst and CO2 utilization. My PhD work has passed the proof of concept stage and is ready for for potential industrial scale up

Also, as a Research Scientist at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and PETRONAS Research Sdn. Bhd., I contribute to projects funded by industrial grants, emphasizing sustainability and advanced materials. This dual role has allowed me to immerse myself in cutting-edge research while fostering collaboration between academia and industry. Formerly a chemistry lecturer, I’ve mentored hundreds of students with the hope of instilling a strong root of science knowledge in the,

Highlights of my journey include representing Malaysia in research attachments and camps abroad, as well as receiving the YSN-ASM Chrysalis Award, which underscores a commitment to impactful research and science communication. These milestones are part of a continuous effort to advance science for societal benefit.

Activities and Hobbies

Outside the lab, I’m deeply committed to societal engagement, fostering interest in STEM through events and international science exchange programs. I also enjoy writing, creating educational content, and painting.

Painting: A Canvas of Creativity

Painting allows me to express my thoughts and emotions visually, blending colors and forms to create meaningful artwork. It’s my way of finding balance and inspiration outside the lab.

Bringing Science to Life: Organizing and Joining Events

I actively participate in and organize science outreach events, such as workshops and camps, to advocate for STEM education and engage with young minds curious about science.

Writing with Purpose: Blogs and Personal Journals

Combining my passion for science and storytelling, I write blogs and journal entries to share personal insights, demystify scientific concepts, and inspire others through my journey.

Empowering Learning: Creating Educational Content

Through my YouTube channel, ALT Lesson, I produce engaging videos that make science accessible and fun, striving to innovate how science is taught and learned.

Fostering Partnerships for Progress
and Discovery

I’m always excited to connect with individuals and organizations passionate about science and education. Whether for talks and sharing invitations, contributing to a column, collaborating on research projects, or working together on creative initiatives to make science accessible, I’m open to opportunities that inspire learning and innovation. Let’s join forces to spark curiosity and drive meaningful impact!
